Our section has almost doubled since this photo was taken at our "Love Is" concert with Monroe Crossing in February 2014.
Please help us reach our collective goal of: $500
$860 raised so far,
Thank you for visiting our Sing-a-Thon fundraising page!
The Soprano 1 section is affectionately known as the Divas because we love to sing the glorious high part of any song. We also take our singing seriously, but it's all so that we can spread joy and community with the choir and our audiences. Your donations help us do that.
What is a Singathon? Glad you asked! Our own program participants are raising money from their networks (that's you!). On the day of the event, our own singers and guest artists perform all day long, 30 minutes at a time, to support us in empowering women's and girls' voices. We're livestreaming a day of performances from RiverRock Studios in Northeast Minneapolis, and you can watch online at www.singathon.org.
More about TCWC: We are committed to making the choral experience accessible to women of all economic backgrounds. The choir does not impose membership fees or require purchase of concert apparel. We receive some concert funding through grants, but we rely primarily on contributions from our own singers, community, and audience. While we're committed to being self-supporting, no one is ever turned away due to lack of financial resources.
Since our inception, the Twin Cities Women’s Choir has welcomed women from all walks of life into this community. We aim to make beautiful music while building bridges among diverse communities with an emphasis on empowering the voices of women. We also strive to support women composers, both by selecting their pieces for performance, and also with our annual Mary Bussman Emerging Female Composer contest.
We are so happy and fortunate to be members of this community, and we thank you for supporting us.
We're not "all work and no play," despite our well-deserved reputation for taking our singing seriously.
