What's a Sing-a-Thon?
Participants commit to raising $100 per person. Then on October 15, our own singers and guests will perform all day long, 30 minutes at a time, to support us in empowering women's and girls' voices.
$1200 sponsors a full season of singing with the Twin Cities Women's Choir for one woman.
$750 sponsors a full season of singing with the Twin Cities Girls Chorus for one girl.
Who are we?
Since its inception, the Twin Cities Women's Choir has welcomed women from all walks of life into its community. We aim to make beautiful music while building bridges among diverse communities with an emphasis on empowering women's voices.
We've performed with Monroe Crossing, Ann Reed, Bruce Henry, Aimee K. Bryant, Brianna Lane, Joan Griffith, the Brass Messengers, and the Hi-Bs (to name a few). We've performed at the Fitzgerald Theater, Orchestra Hall, and the Guthrie Theater. We've performed for community and civic organizations. We've performed the national anthem for the Minnesota Lynx, the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota United FC, and Gopher Women's Basketball.
TCWC is committed to making the choral experience accessible to women of all economic backgrounds. We do not impose membership fees or require purchase of concert apparel. We receive some concert funding through grants, but we rely primarily on contributions from our own singers, community, and audience. While we're committed to being self-supporting, no one is ever turned away due to lack of financial resources.
We've now welcomed the Twin Cities Girls' Choir into our community, extending our mission to empowering girls' voices by providing a quality music education experience in an uplifting, cooperative environment where girls can develop positive social and leadership skills. TCGC is also committed to remaining accessible to girls, regardless of financial resources, through its scholarship program.
TCGC has performed for community and civic organizations, on KARE11 Sunrise, the national anthem for Gopher Women's Hockey, and with the Minnesota Orchestra for their annual Scandinavian Christmas production.
